Description

The garden walls at St Marie's Grange were built in 1835 by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. Constructed of brick, the walls stand approximately 3 meters high and retain the building platform, featuring steps down at both ends. There is an additional wall at right angles that defines the garden on the south side. The walls include internal pilaster buttresses and are laid with raking courses that are rubbed to perpendicular on the buttresses, following the slope of the ground.
