Description

MARDEN THE STREET SU 05 NE (west side) 3/104 Marden Manor 19.3.62 II House. Early C19. Flemish brickwork, rendered and lined to front, slate roof. Two and 3 storeys with cellars. Front of 3 bays, 2 storeys. Central entrance to through hall, flanking reception rooms and stair to rear. Centre bay slightly set forward. Six moulded panelled door with leaded fanlights, all under shallow Tuscan portico of paired columns over 3 steps. Balcony over. Side bays have 2-storey slightly recessed arched panes on moulded sill, and containing on ground level, 15-pane tripartite sashes with louvred shutters, and 12-pane sashes to first floor above moulded string, all windows having moulded rendered panels under. Return elevations three storeys, 3 bays with stone quoins, the first bay with blank painted windows. Roof has two parallel hipped ranges with smaller roof between ending in domed lantern over main stair. Interior: Front rooms have simple contemporary fire surrounds on rear wall, with iron fireplaces.
