Description

This early 19th-century wall, gate piers, and gates form the roadside boundary of a garden. The wall itself is constructed of Flemish bond brickwork, divided into two sections. The southern section extends approximately 22 metres from the south end to the gates, and consists of five panels, while the longer northern section, extending approximately 85 metres to the north of the gates, is made up of 18 panels. The wall rises in three curved stages and has weathered and throated stone copings. The gate piers, also dating to the early 19th century, are built of alternating plain and rusticated limestone blocks and topped with gabled finials. The iron gates feature a central scrolled panel, scrolled crestings, and dog rails in the lower section.
