Description
The Old Vicarage is a building that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The front block features painted roughcast on brick with a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has a three-by-two bay layout, with a brick rear wing on the right side. The entrance is located in the re-entrant angle and consists of a half-glazed door. The windows are twelve-paned sashes with stone sills and slightly cambered heads. There is a tripartite window on the left side of the ground floor and a canted flat-roofed bay on the right. The side return has two tripartite stone mullioned and framed windows with wedge lintels and twelve-paned sashes. The roof is hipped and features side stacks. The rear wing, which is four bays wide and dates from the late 18th century, has a narrower first bay that contains the stair, which has been rebuilt to be flush with the wall. Inside, there is a turned baluster dog-leg stair and a large open fireplace in the rear wing, along with chamfered cross beams.
