Pair of cottages, late C17 or early C18, rubble stone with plain tile roof, coped gables. Stacks to rear chimney gable ridge, north end wall and north end wall of extension to No. 9. 2 storey, 4 window main range extended by one window range at north end. Main range has one recessed ovolo-moulded 2-light window and 3 timber casements. Ground floor has 3-light ovolo-moulded window with hoodmould and relieving arch over, door in flush stone doorcase, 3-light recessed ovolo-moulded window with hoodmould, door to No. 9 between buttresses and a timber casement to right. End extension has timber casement window to each floor. Leaded lights. South end wall has relieving arch over upper window. Large fireplace with timber lintel to rear wall, cross passage with smaller fireplace backing on in The Old Smithy.
