Description

The Gables are a pair of cottages dating to 1705, built of rubble stone with a stone tile roof. They feature corniced ashlar end wall stacks and brick ridge stacks. The cottages are one-and-a-half storeys high. They have recessed cyma moulded stone-mullion windows with leaded lights and iron casements. Four dormer gables are present, each with a two-light window and hoodmould; the second dormer is smaller, and the third features a datestone inscribed "R.S. 1705." On the ground floor, the left side has a modern stone porch flanked by two-light windows with hoodmoulds. The right side has a raised single stair light, a pair of two-light windows, and a further two-light window, all with hoodmoulds. A blocked oval gable window is located in the south end wall.
