Description
Rose Cottage and Fuschia Cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. They are constructed of rubble stone and feature a stone tiled roof, with a ridge stack and a stack on the north end wall. The cottages are two storeys high.
The central section has flush quoins on the left side, with a large single light ovolo-moulded window and a two-light ovolo-moulded recessed mullion window with an iron casement on the first floor. The ground floor includes a door in a flush surround and a three-light ovolo-moulded recessed mullion window that has a hoodmould and a relieving arch above it, along with an iron opening light.
The right end of the cottages is slightly lower and features a door to Rose Cottage in a flush surround with a key stone. The south end wall is rendered and has a three-light cyma-moulded recessed mullion window and a two-light bead-moulded upper window. There is a rear wall stack and a low rear wing. The left end has a coped north gable and a stack, with a cyma-moulded flush two-light mullion window above and a renewed three-light mullion window with a hoodmould below. The north end wall has 20th-century windows.
