Description
This barn, located to the northwest of Hans Farmhouse, has late medieval origins and was modified in the early 19th century. It is constructed from rubble stone and features a corrugated asbestos roof, with a coped south gable that includes a saddlestone. The barn has lean-to cart entries on opposite sides. Inside, it has a four-bay layout, which may have originally been three bays, and is supported by two raised cruck trusses flanking the entry. The trusses have braces to the collars, and the left side truss has had its rear blade replaced and a tie beam inserted. The south end wall displays flush quoins, a Tudor-arched loft opening, and gable dove openings, all of which appear to date from the early 19th century.
