Description
Pound Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the 18th century, possibly built on an earlier structure, and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof and features ashlar ridge stacks. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys. The end bays of each range appear to be 19th-century additions with barge boarded gables.
The main front has a double-fronted centre with a six-panel door set in a 19th-century gabled barge boarded timber porch. The windows to the left have brick cambered heads, with a triple casement below and a pair of casements above, while the right side features a pair of plain casements on each floor. There is a ridge stack to the left of the door and another at the original right end. The 19th-century bay added at the right end is made of squared rubble and has a ground floor 12-pane sash window.
The left end has a hipped roof and a one-window range of plain casement pairs. The 19th-century end bay includes a 12-pane sash window on each floor. At the rear of the main range, there are plain casement pairs on each floor to the left, and cambered-head casements along with a blocked door to the right. The rear wing has a ridge stack and a two-window range of cambered-head triple casements in stone surrounds, with a blocked cambered-head door to the left. The end gable features a 12-pane sash window on each floor.
