Description

Little Thatch and Snail Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century. It is constructed from sarsen and timber framing with a thatched roof. The house has two storeys and three bays arranged parallel to the road, featuring a thatched porch at the left-hand end. The left bay has timber framing above a high sarsen sill, with the framing extending three panels in height and featuring jowled posts. There is one tension brace, though it has been altered. The right two bays are likely of earlier date, with only the upper floor framed, extending two panels in height, and incorporating a central stack and a door at the right end. The right gable has been rebuilt in brick. The interior was not inspected.
