Description

Two cottages stand at numbers 18 and 20 Church Street, Market Lavington. They were built in the mid-18th century. The cottages are constructed from greensand rubble, with the front facing brick, set upon stone plinths. They have a tiled roof. The two-storey building has five bays, with a cellar beneath. Number 18, on the right, features a six-panelled door, covered by a 20th-century gabled canopy, and casement windows set in segmental openings. Number 20 has a boarded door and similar windows. The roof is half-hipped on the left side and includes a stack. A one-bay rear wing extends from number 18, with a gable stack, which has been rebuilt wider, along with a stack in the re-entrant angle.
