Gamekeeper's cottage, 1847, built for Methuen estate. Brick faced in petrified moss with slate eaves roof and ridge stack. 2-storey centre gabled to front and single storey wines. Picturesque cottage style. Centre with fretted bargeboards and finial, ceramic Methuen arms gable plaque, first floor casement pair and ground floor canted bay with slate roof and casement windows. Side wall to west has casement pair and to east has plank door both with grotesque head keystone. Wings have end gables with bargeboards, finial and pendant surviving to east gable. Casement pair to each wing on south side with grotesque head keystone and similar window and keystone to end walls. Rear gable of main range has bargeboard with finials and pendant, door on east side. The unusual cladding material is found in the brook adjacent.
