Description
Celleron Cottage, also known as Gamekeeper's Cottage, is a building that likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later additions. It features roughcast stone on the exposed north-west elevation and has a slate roof. The south-east elevation is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with the fourth bay being a later addition. The first three bays have windows with chamfered surrounds, while the window in the third bay on the first floor is a later addition with a plaster surround; originally, these windows had two and three lights with flat-faced mullions, but they have since been replaced with casements. The ground floor includes a dripstone over the window in the first bay, and the third bay has a fire window. The fourth bay features wider windows with sandstone surrounds and casements. There are blocked entrances between the first and second bays, and the building has a gable end stack and a cross-axial stack. The rear of the cottage has a later outshut in three phases under a catslide roof, which includes the entrance and three small windows. Inside, the cottage has chamfered beams and a panelled cupboard.
