Description
High Brow is a house, probably built in the early 18th century, with later additions. It is constructed of stone rubble with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. The east elevation features two storeys and five bays. On the ground floor, there are two three-light windows with flat-faced mullions and fillet surrounds, along with a fire window in the fifth bay. The first floor has similar two-light windows, with a single light in the fifth bay. The entrance, located between the second and third bays, is framed by an architrave, frieze, and cornice. The house has gable-end stacks, one of which is corbelled.
The south side has a gabled garage with an entrance on the west, while the north side includes a 20th-century sun lounge. At the rear, there is an outshut beneath a catslide roof featuring two-light windows, one of which is a single-chamfered mullioned window. There are two windows on the south side that are likely 20th-century reproductions, and a plain entrance along with a two-light window on the north side provides access to the outshut.
