Description

Park Cottage is a gamekeeper's cottage from the Somerleyton Hall Estate, built around 1850. It features roughcast render on brick and has applied timbering in geometric patterns on the upper floor, which slightly projects and is supported by wooden brackets. The cottage has a hipped thatched roof, with eaves raised over three of the first-floor windows, giving it a picturesque style. The building is in an L-shape and has two storeys, with small-paned casement windows. The entrance is located at the angle between the two wings, featuring a panelled door and a lean-to porch supported by four rustic timber posts. There are two red brick stacks positioned against the outer wall of each wing. This cottage is part of the planned estate development designed by John Thomas for Sir Morton Peto.
