NORTH WRAXALL FORD ST 87 SW 4/428 Duncombe Mill Cottages

Pair of cottages with south end outhouse, later C18, rubble stone with ashlar dressings and stone tiled roofs. 2 storeys and attic to main range, one and a half storeys to south end. 2 hipped dormers to main range, 2 hipped eaves dormers to lower south end range. Cluster of 4 octagonal stone stacks to main range ridge. Raised ashlar quoins and first floor dripcourse. Main range has 4 first floor 2-light flush cyma-moulded mullion windows and ground floor 2 plank doors with hoods on brackets either side of two 2- light mullion windows, and a single light to right. All windows with early C19 cast-iron lattice lights. Dove openings to end gable. South end range has interrupted dripcourse and door in chamfered surround to left. Rear of main range has two 2-light ovolo-moulded mullion windows with hoodmoulds. Possibly part of the "six newly-built tenements" recorded at the mill in 1778. (K.
