Description

This is an 18th-century pair of cottages, forming a range, located on the north side of Shrivenham High Street. The building is constructed of rubble stone with a thatched roof and brick stacks at each end and in the centre. The cottages are arranged in a U-shaped plan, with projecting gable ends at both the east and west ends. The building is one storey high with an attic space. Each cottage has four small, square windows with leaded lights in the attic, while the gables below each have a five-light leaded casement window above a four-light leaded casement. Similar four-light casements are also present in the connecting ranges. The original plank and batten doors are positioned in the angles of the projecting gable wings and within the main range, each sheltered by a flat hood supported by carved scroll brackets.
