Description
Fern House is an early 18th-century building situated on Shrivenham Manor Lane. Constructed primarily of chequer brick with stone sills, it features a gabled stone-tiled roof and three brick stacks. The front elevation, facing south, is two storeys high and comprises seven bays. It has two-light, four-pane casement windows under segmental arches. A six-panel door is located in the fifth bay from the left, sheltered by a flat hood supported on cut scroll brackets. Above the door is a blocked window. Modern extensions have been added to the rear, along with two 20th-century dormers. The rear garden is enclosed by a 12-foot-high wall with a stone base, rat-trap brick courses above, and cement coping. The brick courses transition to rubble stone at the northeast corner, extending along the end of the plot.
