Description
Mercombe Farmhouse is a house that dates from the late 17th century. It is built of rubble stone and has a slate roof with end wall stacks. The building has two and a half storeys. The east front features a gable on the left and is double fronted, with two 3-light ovolo-moulded recessed mullion windows and hoodmoulds on each floor. There is one similar 2-light window with a hoodmould in the gable and a central 19th-century door with a plain surround and a hood supported by brackets. The two ground floor windows and one first floor window have relieving arches. There is a single blocked attic light on the north end. The rear of the house has a projecting off-centre gable with an upper single light and hood, a 2-light window with a hood to the left, and a 3-light window with a hood to the right. Additionally, there is a single-storey stone-tiled addition on the south end.
