Description
Virginia Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, which has been altered over time. It is constructed from rubble stone and features stone tiled roofs. The building consists of two sections, with one and a half storeys on the lower south end and two and a half storeys on the taller north end. The south end has an end stack, gabled dormers on each side, a lean-to on the east front, and a three-light unmoulded mullion window at the rear. There is a plank door and an ovolo-moulded single light window within the lean-to. The taller north end includes an end stack, a gabled dormer on the west front, a pair of casement windows on the first floor, and a two-light ovolo-moulded recessed mullion window on the ground floor. The north end wall also shows traces of an earlier steep gable.
