Description

Pear Tree Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, situated on North Iraxall Park Lane, Ford. The house is constructed of rubble stone and has a stone-tiled roof with coped gables and paired diagonal stacks on the south end. A saddlestone is present on the north end. It is a two-storey building.

The west front features a first-floor two-light mullion window with ovolo moulding. On the ground floor are a one-light cyma-moulded recessed mullion window, and two two-light recessed ovolo-mullion windows, all with hood moulds. The east side has a first-floor two-light flush bead-moulded window and a casement pair, a central blocked single light at half level, and a ground-floor two-light ovolo-moulded window to the left, and a single casement to the right. The south end wall has a dripcourse stepped over a first-floor two-light ovolo-mullion window. A plank door is located centrally, set within a moulded flush doorcase with a corniced hood. The house is said to contain a carved stone date of 1680.
