Description
Shrub House is an early 19th-century house built from rubble stone, featuring hipped stone tiled roofs and a central axial long ashlar chimney base located behind the front ridge. The building has a rectangular plan and stands two stories tall. The front facade presents a three-window arrangement, with 16-pane sash windows on the outer sides and a 12-pane sash window in the center, which is positioned above a later stone porch that has a parapet.
On the east side, there is a three-sided stone bay window from the late 19th or early 20th century in the end wall of the front range, alongside a two-story section that includes a three-window range of 16-pane sashes and a central door. The west side features paired 8-pane sashes and a two-light ovolo-moulded mullion window above in the end wall of the front range, with a two-story section to the left that has a two-window range of three-light ovolo-moulded mullion windows. The rear wall includes ovolo-moulded mullion windows and a truncated stack.
