Description

South Cottage is a house dating from the mid to later 18th century, constructed of rubble stone and featuring a stone-tiled roof. It is a two-storey, double-fronted building. The front facade has two two-light flush stone mullion windows on each floor, with stopped cyma mouldings and small paned windows. Each floor has one sash window and one casement window. Dripstones are positioned above the ground floor windows. A central door is set within a flush stone doorcase, with a stone-tiled stone porch. Dove openings, each with a dripstone, are located above the two-light windows on the south end wall, and there is a rear chimney gable. A lower, two-storey rear wing extends from the main structure, featuring a west end stack, a small upper sash window, and a ground floor three-light mullion window.
