Description

Weavers House is a house with origins from the 18th century and earlier, which has been heavily altered since the 1930s. It was previously three cottages and is constructed of rubble stone with stone tiled roofs. The building has one-and-a-half storeys and features leaded cyma-moulded 2-light mullion windows with dripstones above, which appear to be mostly from the 20th century, although the original windows on the west front have been renewed.

The west front, facing the river, has a main gable with a dove opening and two 2-light windows on both the ground and first floors. There is a lean-to in the southwest corner and wings to the north and south, each of which was formerly a single cottage, with the southern wing having been thatched. The north wing includes a ridge stack and a half-hipped gable above a 20th-century mullion and transom window at the north end. The south wing features two dormer gables with 2-light windows, a corniced ashlar ridge stack, and a large renewed rear wall outside the stack on the east side.

The main range extends eastward with the current entry located on the north side beneath two dormer gables. There is a lean-to 20th-century range to the left, which has two hipped dormers above, all of which have been heavily renewed or are from the 20th century. The south side of the building has a range of four 20th-century dormer gables.

Inside, the main range and the south wing have heavy roof timbers. At the west end of the main range, there is a fireplace in the north wall with a timber lintel and a datestone above it reading "MN 1655."
