Description

Nos. 2 and 3 Water Lane are a pair of cottages dating from the later 18th century. They are constructed of rough rendered stone and topped with a stone tiled roof. A large ridge stack is positioned between the two houses. The cottages are one-and-a-half storeys high and feature four dormer gables, each with cyma-moulded flush mullion two-light windows on the first floor. On the ground floor, to the left, there is a door set in a gabled porch with stone slab sides, which is now part of No. 1. The rest of the ground floor has a symmetrical arrangement that includes a single light window, a door in a flush stone surround with a hoodmould, two cyma-moulded flush mullion two-light windows, and another door with a hoodmould alongside a single light window.
