Description

The milestone at Rowden's Cleeve is located on the Upavon to Andover turnpike. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The structure is a rectangular pillar featuring an applied cast-iron plate that reads: 'DEVIZES/10 MILES/EVERLEIGH/4/ANDOVER/16'. Below the plate, there is a benchmark, which predates 1889, indicating a height of 342.7 feet.
