Description

This is a headstone dated 1861, located approximately 40 metres south of the Abbey Church in Malmesbury. It is inscribed to W F Cooper, a solicitor, with the following text: "FAREWELL VAIN WORLD I'VE SEEN ENOUGH OF THEE/ AND NOW AM CARELESS WHAT THOU SAY'ST OF ME/ THY SMILES I CRAVE NOT, NOR THY FROWNS I FEAR/ MY CARES ARE PAST, MY HEAD RESTS QUIET HERE/ WHAT FAULTS YOU FOUND IN ME TAKE CARE TO SHUN/ AND LOOK AT HOME, ENOUGH THERE'S TO BE DONE."
