Description
64 North Street is a former dame school, likely built in the mid-18th century on an older site. The building is part two storeys and part one storey, featuring a plinth and a combination of stucco and colour-washed brick. It has a thatched roof with a chimney on the left.
On the left side, there are two small upper 2-light casement windows, a 4-pane sash window on the ground floor, and a larder window to the right, which is a cross-glazed sash. Behind this section is a two-storey extension with a hipped slate roof, creating an 'L' shape.
The right side of the building is a single-storey section with thatch swept down. It has two doors set in segmental-headed brick porches; the left door is six-panelled, while the right door is half-glazed with marginal glazing. There is also a 4-pane sash window to the right and a panel between the doors. The rear features an eyebrow dormer. The interior has been rearranged.
