Description

19 Green Road is a 17th-century cottage that was once used as a dame school. It is a one and a half storey building constructed from painted rubble with a thatched roof and a brick ridge stack. The gable end facing the road is rendered. On the first floor, there are two modern casement windows that have been cut into the thatch, while the ground floor features a 2-light casement window with a wooden lintel. To the right, there is a lean-to extension with another 2-light casement window. A notable feature of the cottage is the external stepped wall chimney stack, which has an attached bread oven located to the left of centre on the north front. The cottage also includes one eyebrow dormer and a modern conservatory entrance.
