Description
Ivy Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered. It is constructed from rendered witchert, rubble stone, and some brick, all of which are colourwashed. The cottage features a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the left-hand side, and it has a large central brick chimney with shafts. There are three eaves dormers that are integrated into the thatch. The building is one storey with an attic and has a lean-to porch at the centre, which is covered by the continuation of the thatched roof. The door is located on the right-hand flank, with a modern two-light leaded casement window on each side. To the left-hand gable, there is a modern conservatory, and above it, a three-light attic casement window. The rear elevation includes two dormers, a five-light oak mullioned window with old glass situated below the eaves, and three ground floor casement windows. Inside, there is a large central stack with an inglenook fireplace on each side and ovens. The left-hand room features a large chamfered spine beam that is supported on a moulded bracket.
