Description

Burden's Ball is a building located on North Street, dating from the early 19th century and originally an older house. It is two storeys high, featuring painted stucco on a gault brick plinth. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and the building has flat eaves supported by pairs of brackets. The front is symmetrical with three bays, each containing 4-pane sash windows. The central entrance has a six-panel door with raised and fielded panels, an elliptical radiating fanlight above, and a reeded door surround with corner roundels and small modillions. To the right, there is a low single-storey extension with a hipped slate roof. A rendered wall, partly made of brick and flint cob, runs along Queen Street and is capped with slate.
