Description

Mayfield is a 17th-century house located in Grafton West. It features a timber frame with brick noggings and a thatched roof. The building is single-storey with an attic and consists of four bays, with an extension on the left side. The original framing is still visible in the gable and at the rear, although much of it has been restored. The framing is three panels high and includes corner braces. The entrance is located at the right gable, featuring a 20th-century boarded door beneath a thatched canopy. The house has 20th-century casement windows and the thatch extends over four dormers, with a half-hipped design on the right side. A central stack is present on the roof.
