Description

This is a house, now divided into two cottages, dating from the 16th to 17th centuries. It is timber framed with colourwashed brick noggings. The gable of one part is brick and tile hung, while the roof is thatched. The building is single-storey with an attic, originally comprising three bays, with a left-hand extension that is also timber-framed and a lean-to addition. The timber framing is particularly substantial, with two panels in height and heavy corner braces to the first and third bays. There is a half-glazed door and a timber casement window. The thatch is swept over three dormers at the front and carried down over the left-hand lean-to. The interior is now divided in the central bay, with a stack located on the inner face of the third bay.
