Description
Nos 22 to 24 on The Brittox are late 18th century buildings that stand three storeys tall, constructed from Bath stone. They feature a gable end slate roof that is concealed by a blocking course and a moulded cornice. The first and second floors have sill courses, and the corners are accentuated with chamfered quoins. The upper floors boast four large recessed sash windows, each four panes wide, with stone architrave surrounds. The ground floor has mid-19th century shop fronts framed by pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. The windows on the ground floor consist of two lights at the front and two splayed by the doors, with mullions and transoms that include tracery at the corners of the upper panes. To the left, there is a two-storey extension with a shop front that continues the design. Nos 18 to 26 on The Brittox form a group with these buildings.
