Description
Number 26, The Brittox, is a late 18th-century building that has been altered on the ground floor. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed from Bath stone on a raised plinth. The ground floor features banded chamfered rustication, with a frieze and cornice above. A moulded stone eaves cornice and blocking course conceal the gable end slate roof. The building has three recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars and block sills. On the ground floor, there are two modern doors with flat stone hoods supported by cut brackets, along with two modern rectangular windows that are in keeping with the building's style. Numbers 18 to 26, in sequence, form a group.
