Description

This milestone, located about 1 mile southwest of Chitterne, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of limestone and features a semi-circular headed top. The front of the pillar has incised lettering that reads "XC Miles from LONDON XII from Amesbury," along with an incised bench mark below.
