Description

CHITTERNE WARMINSTER ROAD ST 94 SE (north side) 4/30 Large barn to south west of The Manor (formerly listed as outbuilding at The Manor) 24.7.69 GV II Barn. Probably c1800. Timber-framing clad with weather- boarding, on rubble stone and brick plinth, half-hipped Welsh slate roof. Nine-bay. West side has central cart entry with corrugated iron doors, lower double planked doors either side, two 6-pane windows to left, planked loading bay to right. East side has open cart entry to central bay, double planked doors to left, English bond brick lean-to attached to right. Interior of cart entry divided from rest of barn by weatherboarded partitions. Queen post truss roof with straight braces from tie- beam to jowled main posts.
