Description
The King's Head is a mid-19th century inn located on the north side of Warminster Road in Chitterne. The building features a chequered design of flint and limestone, topped with an interlocking clay tile roof that has a hip on the right side and brick stacks. It is two stories high with four windows across the front. The entrance is a half-glazed door situated in the center of the left section, while to the right are 12-pane segmental-headed sash windows and two additional sash windows to the left. A dressed limestone bay projects to the right, which includes a tripartite plate-glass sash window on the ground floor. On the first floor, there are three 9-pane sashes on the left and a 16-pane top-opening window on the right. The right side of the building has a pebbledashed finish with a planked door, while the left side is rendered and has no openings. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension. The interior has been altered.
