Description
This milestone, located west of the B3083 junction in Winterbourne Stoke, dates from the 18th century and is made of limestone. It is designed as a rectangular pillar with a rounded top. The painted inscription indicates that it is 83 miles from London and 5 miles from Amesbury. This milestone is part of a series along the turnpike road from Amesbury to Shaftesbury.
