Description

This milestone, located approximately 850 metres east of Longbarrow Roundabout, dates from the 18th century. It is made of limestone and has a rectangular shape with a gabled top. The front features an incised inscription that reads "LXXXI / Miles from / LONDON / III / from Amesbury." The reverse side has an identical inscription, but it uses the long "s" in "Amesbury."
