Description
No. 8 and Old Forge Cottage are a pair of attached cottages dating from the early 18th century. They are constructed of Flemish bond brick and feature a tiled roof with brick stacks. The buildings are two stories high and have a total of four windows. No. 8, located on the right, has a planked door set in a chamfered wooden case, with two 2-light cast-iron casements to the right. Old Forge Cottage, on the left, has a combination of 3-light and 2-light cast-iron casements, along with a 20th-century casement inserted in a blocked doorway. On the first floor, there are four 2-light cast-iron casements. The left side of the building features a 19th-century outshut with a front door leading to Old Forge Cottage and plain bargeboards. The rear of the cottages includes 20th-century gabled outshuts. The interior has not been inspected.
