Description

The barn at Bushton Farm is a farm building dating from the 16th to 17th century. It features a timber frame with a brick gable and corrugated iron cladding that has replaced the original weatherboarding. The roof is made of iron. The barn consists of 5½ bays and has heavy square framing that is two panels high on brick sills. It includes jowelled posts with straight corner braces and double queen strut roof trusses with clasped purlins, all of which are marked up. At the north end, there is an added two-storey cartshed. The farmhouse that was once part of the property was demolished around 1956.
