Description

The barn at Northbury Farmhouse is a large grain barn dating from the 16th century. It features a timber frame with sections of brick infilling and weatherboarding, topped by a gabled roof made of corrugated iron. The barn consists of five framed bays and includes jowl posts with large curved braces. It has queen post roof trusses with clasped purlins, although some rafters have been replaced. The carpenter's marks are visible and appear in the correct sequence.
