Description
Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 18th century, although a datestone from 1747 may indicate alterations made by Ralph Broome. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick on a stone plinth, with stone quoins, a cornice, and window and door dressings. The roof is hipped and covered with stone slate. The building has a square plan, featuring a three-bay asymmetrical entrance facade that faces the service yard and a five-bay symmetrical return that faces the road.
The entrance facade includes a central doorway topped by a stilted, projecting semi-circular hood supported by short console brackets. Above the hood is a radial fanlight, and the doorway has a six-panel architrave that is raised at the head with a fielded panel and a flat cornice. The upper windows are similar to the doorway but lack the cornice and panel. There are two leaded casement dormers with stone hung cheeks, and the panelled stacks are symmetrically placed. The side elevation features a central sash window with an arched head and keystone. Additionally, there is a sun fire insurance plaque on the entrance facade. The interior has not been seen.
