21 21A And 21B, Milford Street

21, 21A, and 21B Milford Street is a Grade II* listed building originally part of a 14th-century house that also includes No 19A. The building was recased in the early 18th century and features two storeys and an attic, constructed of colourwashed brick with a heavy moulded modillion eaves cornice. It has an old tile roof that is steeply pitched with three hipped projections and one hipped roof dormer. The first floor has seven windows with irregular spacing, set in wide flat frames, and features sashes with intact glazing bars. The ground floor has Victorian and modern shop fronts. The building retains its 14th-century roof structure, which includes trussed rafters, three main trusses, collar purlins, a louvre, and an arched brace collar type, along with a chamfered crown post. Nos 19A to 39 (odd) form a group.
