Description
The Daniell Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 13 metres northeast of the chancel of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the mid-19th century and is made of limestone. The tall tomb features chamfered cornets on a moulded plinth, with an oval panel adorned with floral-carved spandrels on the main sides. There are floral drops at the corners, reeded pilasters, and a moulded cornice leading to a weathered top, which is capped with an urn finial on a fluted plinth. The north side has a damaged oval inscription tablet dedicated to Francis Daniell, who died in 1857.
