Description

The Saunders Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary, approximately 10 metres north-east of the chancel. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a corniced table and has panelled ends with centre pilasters that divide raised octagons, adorned with gathered anthemion corners. It commemorates Amran Saunders and James Saunders, who both died in 1812.
