Description

Katharine House is a former tarpaulin and rope works established 250 years ago, dating back to the 17th century. The building is two storeys high with an attic. The ground floor is finished in painted brick, while the upper part features tile hanging with shaped tiles. The front has two gables over the left half, each containing a two-light leaded casement window. On the first floor, there are four tall, similar three-light casement windows. The ground floor includes three 18th-century sash windows and two tall two-light 17th-century casement windows on the right side. A plain door is located in the centre, sheltered by a flat hood supported by cut brackets, with a later door to the right of centre that was originally a window. The west gable end is also tile hung. The building has an old tiled roof.
