Description
The former lodge of St Mary's School is a house dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone rubble and features a wooden shingle roof. The building has a two-room central-entry plan and is double-fronted with curved corners that extend just below the eaves. It includes timber lintels over a recessed doorway with a 20th-century door, and two-light, six-pane casements, along with an inserted 20th-century window in the left-hand gable. There is also a later single-storey range on the right side, which is set back and has a door and a window on the left. The interior has been altered, featuring a 20th-century stair flight on the right, a central first-floor axial chamfered beam, and a 20th-century roof.
