Description
This milestone, located about 250 metres southeast of Baycliffe Farm, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of limestone and features a semi-circular headed cast-iron plate with clear lettering that reads "BRUTON/9/Miles." This milestone marks the road from Bruton, Somerset to Norton Bavant, which was turnpiked between 1792 and 1793.
